for sale -- was his bike a bike that just so happened to be stolen from his home in san francisco three months ago. the victim told moore he wanted to buy the bike, and they agreed to meet at the ashby bart station in berkley but what moore didn't know is that the victim had alerted bart police, and they would be waiting there for him during a phone call today the victim tells me he did get his bike back, and that he is very grateful that the bart police were able to make an arrest now investigators are hoping other victims will step forward. and bart police are asking anyone who thinks that one of those bikes may belong to give them a call, will have to show proof of ownership, and receipt of police report. as for moore, he is being held in the glen dyer jail, facing several charges. scott rates, kron 4. >> pam: tonight. we're learning new details about that oil tanker which side- swiped the bay bridge on monday. here's video from sky- 7 showing the scene. visibility was reportedly very low - before the accident. and there are regulations on the bay. which would prevent a vessel from t

night. breaking into her san francisco home. assaulting and attempting to rape her. police say 25-year-old jovan jones was eventually tracked down. but as kron four's philippe djegal reports. that may not have happened so quickly if not for a good samaratan getting involved. >> reporter: this is where the san francisco police department says. a 26-year-old woman was assaulted saturday night. alta street. a small road on telegraph hill with no outlets. at night. the woman was entering her home. when 25-year-old jovan jones of marin city snuck up on her. forced his way into the home and threw the woman to the floor. police say he demanded money and some her stuff. then, threatened to kill her and assaulted her. police say someone outside of the home saw what was happening. and called 9-11. when police arrived. investigators say jones jumped off the balcony and ran off. less than an hour and a half later. with help of a california highway patrol helicopter. police tracked jones down a few blocks away from the victim's home on green street. jones was booked into san francisco county jail o

, jeff. >> we're still more than a week away from the super bowl, but san francisco city officials are already working on plans to keep crowds from getting out of control, if the 49ers win. kron 4's charles clifford has details on where things stand now. >> reporter: after the giants won the world series back in october, there were large crowds celebrating all over san francisco, things really got rowdy around mission and 22nd where people were blocking the street and lighting fires. there was also a large crowd and a bonfire outside att park and along market street a muni bus was vandalized and set on fire. the city, of course, is hoping to avoid a repeat of scenes like these if the 49ers win the super bowl. after the giants world series win, city officials learned a few things. for one, revelers started fires using garbage from near by trash cans. before the super bowl, the city will have the garbage picked up to literally remove fuel from the fires. muni may also make changes to bus and train routes along market street to avoid a repeat of this scene. the dpt will also be rerouting

. scott rates, kron 4. >> pam: new tonight at eight. san francisco's mayor has floated the idea of making mission bay. area of the city. kron 4's charles clifford has details. this is a letter from san francisco mayor ed lee's office to the metropolitan transportation commission. in it the mayor suggests that as part of a long term redevelopment plan, the city should remove a portion of interstate 280 and alter the caltrains station along king street. let's take a look at a google earth map so i can show what we're talking about this is interstate 280 looking north towards downtown san francisco. what the mayor is proposing is demolitioning this section of 280 between 16th street and downtown and replacing it with a new ground level parkway. right now, this area, know as mission bay, is mostly industrial, but the mayor says if 280 were removed the land could be redeveloped into homes and businesses... basically creating a new neighborhood. now, this wouldn't be the first time this has happened in san francisco. the embarcadero freeway was demolished and replaced in 1991, and in 200

collision with a san francisco muni bus. the accident happened shortly after two pm when the bicyclist swerved to avoid a car door that had opened up on geary street and ended up hitting a bus that was traveling alongside the rider. the person fell off their bike but was not run over by the bus according to a muni spokesman. the biker suffered unknown injuries and was transported to san francisco general hospital. >>> vallejo police are offering a ten-thousand- dollar reward in connection with a christmas eve hit and run where the victim still remains in critical condition. the 54-year-old vallejo resident was crossing broadway street at hogan avenue around 5:20 pm when they were struck by a honda civic. the vehicle then fled the scene and has not been located. the car is described as a black two door civic which may have some damage like a broken right headlight. damaged hood. and possibly a broken windshield. the victim was taken to john muir hospital and remains in critical condition. >>> is lance armstrong planning to make a public statement about his use of banned performance enha
